Fall is one of my favorite seasons - from all the vibrant leaf colors to the bushels of apples and pumpkins, just a stroll through your neighborhood or local park is enough to get your creative juices flowing.
Here are a few festive outdoor decorating ideas to help you bring the fall to your home.
Highlight your doorway.
What’s more welcoming than colorful pumpkins and potted flowers? Draw attention to your main entrance with natural accents in bright fall colors like orange, gold and red. Mums are the most popular flower of choice but there are plenty of other fall-blooming flowers and plants that you can find at your local nursery.
Grand Entrance - walkway and driveway.
For those of you with a long driveway or walkway to your front door - start from the street and work your way up with a simple line of pumpkins or add in some hay bales and flowers to create small arrangements along the way.
Create your own fall vignette.
Love what you saw at your local nursery? Replicate it! Snap a photo and play with a mix of small and large hay bales, a variety of pumpkin shapes and sizes, and don’t forget colorful potted flowers. Add in some extras that you might already have around the house – like a small wagon, wheel barrel, wood or wrought iron bench and wood crates are a great touch!
Keeping it simple.
Don’t have the space or creativity to go all out? No worries! You can achieve a great seasonal feel by just selecting one fall element, pumpkins or potted flowers, and either placing them of each side of your front door or grouping them together to create a simple arrangement.
Enjoy the crisp days of the fall and have fun celebrating the season.
