our #givelocal partner
Did you know that Sussex County has a home affordability gap (the difference between median home price and what most can afford) of $212,074? This and other market factors have led to a shortage of decent, affordable housing inventory in our area.
As a locally-owned real estate team, we at The Parker Group see the need for more affordable homes every day and ascribe to Habitat for Humanity’s fundamental belief that everyone deserves a decent place to live. In an effort to do our part, The Parker Group is excited to announce that our #givelocal partner is Sussex County Habitat for Humanity.
Throughout the year, The Parker Group will donate a portion of the proceeds from every home sold to Habitat, volunteer on new construction and neighborhood revitalization sites and promote Habitat’s mission. We are excited to give back to the community we love, through the industry in which we serve. We will be posting updates of the #givelocal partnership throughout the year and hope to further the mission of Habitat through our efforts.
Founded in 1991, Sussex County Habitat for Humanity has matured into a trustworthy, reliable, and productive affordable home builder. Sussex Habitat has sold 133 homes and repaired 108 homes, improving the lives of 241 local families. Currently, they have home construction and rehab projects underway in West Rehoboth, Milton, Ellendale, Seaford, and Laurel. They are partnering in major Neighborhood Revitalization initiatives in Laurel and Seaford. Further, they have launched a financial coaching partnership with $tand by Me serving more than two hundred families annually.
